What To Do In Coron – A 4 Days In Coron Itinerary
We started our Philippines trip in Coron and we were straight away impressed by the breathtaking beauty of this country. We spent 4 days in Coron and found plenty of amazing places to see and things to do here!
Coron consists of two islands. The bigger island is called Busuanga Island where the Coron town is located and the smaller Coron Island, which is 30 minutes boat drive away. Coron has stunning scenery around it – ragged limestone landscapes, crystal clear waters including the Philippines’ most clean lake and corals reefs in shallow waters. You can also find WWII-era shipwrecks around the area, which make thrilling diving spots. In Coron town, you can find bars and restaurants and it is a short drive away from Maquinit Hot Springs. We created 4 days in Coron itinerary for you to make the best out of your trip here!

How to get there and around?
You can fly to Coron (Busuanga Airport) from Manila, Cebu and El Nido. A shared minivan from the airport to Coron town is 150php per person and it takes about 45 minutes. We found this a good system without any useless hassle about the prices.
You can also take a ferry from Manila or El Nido.
In Coron, we recommend hiring a motorbike as it is the easiest way to go around the island and explore it at your own pace. The price for a motorbike is 500php per day, but if you rent it longer it is a bit cheaper. We rented for four days and it was 450php per day.

We recommend staying near Coron town as it makes a convenient location to reach all your activities during your stay.

Coron itinerary: Day 1
Coron is definitely a place to do some island hopping. There are different island hopping tours, A, B, and C of which we recommend to do at least A and B. We have also added C as on option for day 4 and we will tell what each of them includes.
Start your Coron trip by taking a tour A! This boat trip will take you on white sands of CYC beach, where you can just relax and enjoy or have a swim in the crystal clear waters. You will see the lovely Blue Lagoon (or known also as Hidden Lagoon, though not very hidden anymore), where you can swim in the peculiar mix of cold and warm water. The mix of waters is caused by the combination of saltwater and freshwater. The tour also includes snorkeling in beautiful Coral Garden, where you can marvel at the colorful marine life.
Probably the most popular stop during this tour is Lake Kayagan. It is the cleanest lake in the Philippines. The color of this lake is clear blue! Dive in and enjoy the refreshing swim here.
If you don’t want to go on any trips there is the opportunity to rent a kayak for the day which costs 500 pesos. If you rent a kayak you can on your own go to both Barracuda Lake and Lake Kayagan. Both of these places are about an hour kayaking away from town so you need to be fit enough to do this. In each of these places you also need to pay the entrance fee.
We recommend you to take the tour for these places since you then get everything sorted out for you and lunch is included. You can just sit back and relax!
You can book your Tour A HERE.
Coron itinerary: Day 2
Go and get yourself a motorbike and go explore the island on your own! Renting a motorbike costs 500 pesos per day, we paid 450 pesos per day when we rented it for four days in a row.
We hope you are up for a longer motorbike ride today because it’s time to head to Conscious waterfall and Ocam Ocam beach. You will find Conscious waterfall 45 minutes away from Coron Town and Ocam Ocam Beach 1.5 hours away from the town.
The Conscious waterfall is a small but beautiful waterfall that ends up in a small turquoise blue pool where you can go for a swim and cool yourself down. Take your time here and relax, sit down and enjoy. There is no entrance fee but a donation is highly recommended to help them keep this place clean and beautiful.
When you are ready it is time to head towards Ocam Ocam Beach, which is a 45 minutes drive from Conscious waterfall. Ocam Ocam Beach is a beautiful pristine white-sand beach where the coconut trees line up along the beach. It is a 20 pesos entrance fee to this beach. There are a few places where you can find both food and drinks here to fill up your belly after a long drive.
Before the darkness falls it’s time to head back to Coron town to have dinner and to watch the sunset from the rooftop at Levine’s restaurant. This restaurant serves delicious vegan food.
Coron itinerary: Day 3
It is time for another tour. Our second tour for our trip was Tour B which we can really recommend. This tour visited some cool and beautiful places and a lagoon. It also visits the highlight around Coron, Lake Barracuda. If you have a dome for your GoPro now is the time to use it. In Barracuda Lake you will find crystal clear water and stunning limestone formations! On this tour, you will also see the Skeleton Wreck, Reef Garden and Twin Lagoon.
As you get back from the tour it’s time to take your motorbike and drive to the Maquinit hot springs. These natural hot springs have a water temperature of 39-41 degrees so a visit to these places is preferably made in the evening when the sun is down. There is an entrance fee of 200 pesos per person and it closes at 8 pm. The gates are closing at 7 pm. You will not be alone here since it is a lot of people who want to experience these beautiful hot springs, we still really recommend you to go here. It is the best place to just relax and enjoy the evening!
You can book your Tour B HERE.
Coron itinerary: Day 4
It is already the last day of our 4 days in Coron! If you want to have a relaxed day you can head to Cabo beach. It may not be as pristine as Ocam Ocam Beach, but it is still a good place for relaxing on the beach. After chilling at the beach, you can stroll around Coron town. Go see the market and enjoy some good food! As the evening is coming closer it’s time to head towards the lookout Mt. Tapyas in Coron to watch the sunset from the top. That is a perfect way to finish your Coron trip! When you reach the top you will be rewarded with a beautiful view and hopefully a breathtaking sunset!
